GoHealth will lay off 103 of the 111 full-time employees reporting to its Chicago headquarters months after the health insurance marketplace and Medicare-focused digital health company filed for bankruptcy.

The company said in a Sept. 3 WARN notice that due to economic difficulties, it will be “fully shutting down the majority of its current operations.” The layoffs are slated to begin Nov. 5 and be completed by  Dec. 31.

Those affected range from C-suite roles — including the CEO and CFO — down to customer support roles, according to the notice filed with the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.

GoHealth filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy June 7 as part of a prepackaged restructuring plan that will transfer ownership to its lenders, which the company said would strengthen its balance sheet ahead of the 2026 Medicare annual enrollment period.

GoHealth did not respond to a request for comment.
