Nationally, the average annual deductible for single coverage under an employer-based health insurance plan is $2,169, according to an analysis from KFF.

The 2025 data comes from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Medical Expenditure Panel Survey Insurance Component, an annual survey of employers.
