Kedar Mate, MD, is joining Blue Shield of California’s board of directors, according to an Aug. 10 news release.
Dr. Mate is currently chief medical officer of Qualified Health AI, an enterprise AI platform he founded for health systems. Previously, he was president and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a healthcare quality and patient safety organization. He has also advised CMS and the World Health Organization during his career.
He is a senior scholar at Stanford University’s Clinical Excellence Research Center and is part of the New York City-based Weill Cornell Medicine faculty.
