Under the agreement, Newark-based Horizon’s policyholders will gain in-network access to CarePoint’s three hospitals beginning in October. The hospitals include Bayonne (N.J.) Medical Center, Hoboken (N.J.) University Medical Center and Christ Hospital in Jersey City.
The agreement on payment rates also ends a federal lawsuit filed by CarePoint against Horizon in 2016. The lawsuit alleged Horizon owed CarePoint $76 million in unpaid and underpaid bills for care provided to more than 7,000 patients since June 2015, the report states.
