The specialty, frontier and home delivery pharmacies business of UnitedHealth Group’s pharmacy benefit manager, Optum Rx, has named Michael Einodshofer as CEO.
Mr. Einodshofer most recently served as chief growth officer at Free Market Health, a healthcare technology company focused on specialty pharmacy. Previously, he was a senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer for Optum until 2024, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also has a background as a pharmacist.
“I started my career in ‘front-line’ retail and specialty pharmacy practice environments helping patients understand their medications. Simple one-on-one conversations with patients to help them better understand their treatments and manage their medication habits to optimize their results. Today, our pharmacy ecosystem is far from simple,” Mr. Einodshofer said on LinkedIn in June. “The enthusiasm within the Optum Rx organization to solve these challenges and lead change within the industry is what brought me back.”
