Optum Rx names health plan market president

Optum Rx, UnitedHealth Group’s pharmacy benefit manager, named Zack Jacobson as health plan market president, a June 15 LinkedIn post said.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr. Jacobson was most recently the PBM’s chief pricing and underwriting officer. He has spent more than six years working for Optum. Previously, he had a stint with Cigna’s Express Scripts. 

“I started my career in the PBM industry supporting health plan clients and throughout my career have always been drawn back to the health plan market,” Mr. Jacobson said. “I look forward to the opportunity to continue working side by side our clients to reduce drug costs, provide clinical expertise and create a best-in-class experience for the members we serve.”
