SmartShopper uses Blue Cross’ claims data, member engagement and predictive analytics to provide customers with price differences for various procedures based on facility and ZIP code. The tool is operated in partnership with Vitals, a company that provides cost transparency information.
The tool will be available to Blue Cross network providers and customers. BCBSL also plans to pilot financial incentives for smart shopping.
