Several hospital-insurer contracts are approaching network breaks by the end of June without new agreements in place, spanning multiple states and major insurers.
Seven hospital-insurer contract talks to watch:
1. Cigna and Oakland-based University of California Health hospitals, facilities and providers across the state will go out of network July 1 for commercial plans.
2. Cigna and Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health will go out of network on June 23 for commercial members.
3. Cigna and Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health hospitals and physicians will go out of network on July 1 for commercial members.
4. Humana and Tampa, Fla.-based Moffitt Cancer Center will go out of network on July 1 for Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO members.
5. UnitedHealthcare and Radnor, Pa.-based Main Line Health hospitals and physicians will go out of network on July 1 for employer-sponsored, ACA and Medicare Advantage members.
6. UnitedHealthcare and NewYork-Presbyterian hospitals and medical group practices will go out of network on July 1 for commercial, Medicaid and most Medicare Advantage members. The health system is already out of network for UnitedHealthcare’s New York ACA plans.
7. UnitedHealthcare and Providence, R.I.-based Brown University Health physicians will go out of network on July 1 for Medicare Advantage members.
