PacificSource is laying off 97 employees following the company’s previously announced decision to exit Montana and the individual line of business, along with “rightsizing in the Oregon market.”
The cuts, effective July 31, will affect offices in Bend, Portland, Salem and Springfield across all lines of business, the insurer said May 27.
In October, PacificSource laid off roughly 300 employees, citing rising healthcare costs and Medicaid funding challenges. The company also largely withdrew from Washington state in 2024.
PacificSource, which is partly owned by Portland-based Legacy Health, employs more than 1,500 people and has 500,000 members across ACA, employer-sponsored, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The company’s market exits are expected to affect roughly 60,000 members.
