Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health and Cigna Healthcare announced a multiyear agreement Sept. 23 after the health system went out of network in June.
Effective immediately, the agreement restores in-network access to providers, clinics and hospitals. A Baptist news release said the agreement includes Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
“Throughout these discussions, both Baptist Health and Cigna Healthcare remained committed to finding a path forward because the patients we serve deserved one,” Baptist President and CEO Matthew Zuino said. “This agreement reflects that shared commitment and allows us to move forward together to strengthen health and improve lives across the communities we serve.”
Cigna and Baptist are working with patients to help with the transition, the release said.
