Alignment shuffles board leadership, names 2 other execs

Alignment Healthcare founder and CEO John Kao will take on the company’s chairman role in addition to his current responsibilities, according to a May 12 news release.

Former chairman Joseph Konowiecki has been named vice chairman and executive vice president of corporate affairs. He will manage the human resources, legal and communications teams.

The announcement also said that Shane Hochradel will join Alignment as COO. He has previously worked at Elevance Health, UnitedHealth Group and Highmark Health. Mr. Hochradel will focus on enterprise operations.

Mark Kent will join Alignment as president of the management services organization. He has experience across provider platforms and primary care, including at Humana. Mr. Kent will oversee the organization’s performance and provider support while continuing alignment with Alignment’s health plan.

All three leaders will directly report to Mr. Kao.
