OptumServe Health Services, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, has been awarded a contract worth up to $1.61 billion from the Defense Health Agency to provide medical and dental readiness services for military personnel.
The contract covers a range of services, including medical and dental exams, behavioral health assessments, laboratory testing, diagnostics, immunizations and vision and audiology care.
The agreement is part of the Defense Health Agency’s Remote Health Readiness Program, which supports nearly 400,000 service members and Department of Defense civilians a year. The program focuses on ensuring individual medical and dental readiness, particularly for reserve and geographically dispersed forces.
Services are provided through a mix of call center support, telehealth in-clinic care and large-scale group events held at military or nontraditional sites.
