Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York and New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System have established a three-year agreement, both organizations confirmed to Becker’s.
The agreement includes hospitals, physicians and other providers. Mount Sinai said this applies to commercial, Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Essential Plan products.
“We recognize this has been a challenging period for patients and providers and are pleased that Anthem beneficiaries will again have access to Mount Sinai’s world-class medical care,” Mount Sinai CEO Brendan Carr, MD, said in a statement.
Along with some price increases, the contract features new value-based care models linking payment to health outcomes, an April 13 Anthem news release said. Anthem said the contract addressed hospital billing accuracy, one of Anthem’s primary concerns during negotiations, as well.
“We appreciate the hard work by both teams that made this agreement possible, and we look forward to serving New Yorkers together for years to come,” Anthem BCBS in New York Commercial President Victor DeStefano said in the release.
