From several mergers in the managed care space to Kaiser’s entry into Nevada, these are seven payer industry M&A updates previously reported by Becker’s.
1. Carolina Complete Health and WellCare of North Carolina, both Centene subsidiaries, secured regulatory approval in April to move forward with their merger to form a managed care organization serving more than 980,000 members across Medicare, Medicaid and the ACA marketplace.
2. CareSource finalized its affiliation with Community Care in April, a Brookfield, Wis.-based managed care organization serving older adults and adults with disabilities.
3. BCBS Kansas City and Highmark earned regulatory approval in March from Missouri regulators to close their affiliation deal.
4. Centene’s Magellan Health entered into an agreement to be acquired by Madison Health Group in February.
5. Humana’s CenterWell completed its acquisition of MaxHealth, a Tampa, Fla.-based primary care network focused on adults and seniors, in February.
6. BCBS Michigan agreed to sell its AF Group subsidiary to Enstar Group, a global insurance and reinsurance group, in February. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
7. Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and Reno, Nev.-based Renown Health finalized a joint venture in February to launch a new outpatient care delivery system and co-own a health plan in northern Nevada.
