GoodRx is moving into the employer benefits market with a new program that lets companies subsidize discounted cash prices on brand-name drugs for their employees.
The program, GoodRx Employer Direct, launched earlier this year with grocery chain Hy-Vee as one of its first partners, with an initial focus on GLP-1s, the company said in a Feb. 24 news release.
Through the program, employers select specific brand medications and contribute a subsidy on top of the manufacturer-sponsored price already available through GoodRx. The combined discount is applied automatically at the pharmacy counter and employees pay a reduced out-of-pocket price without the drug being added to their health plan’s formulary.
The program also includes an employer-branded version of GoodRx’s telehealth services, which bundles clinical consultations, prescribing and pharmacy fulfillment.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
