Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners and Quartz are working together on self-funded health plan options for employees.

Large, commercial employers across Minnesota and Wisconsin will have coverage options that offer robust administrative resources, as well as strong regional and national provider networks. This coverage can begin as early as July 1.

“Employers are looking for smarter, more flexible ways to offer benefits without sacrificing care quality or member experience,” Quartz President and CEO Christine Senty said in a joint news release Jan. 27. “This partnership brings together two highly trusted organizations to deliver exactly that — a self-funded solution built on local relationships, national reach and a shared commitment to helping people create a life well-lived.”

The self-funded options will focus on clinical integration and tailored service. The plans will build off the insurers’ networks, including Green Bay and La Crosse, Wis.-based Emplify Health, Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health, West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health and Madison-based University of Wisconsin Health for Quartz, and HealthPartners’ more than 90 clinics and hospitals.

“By working together, we can better meet the needs of employers looking to make benefits and costs easier to manage, and we can simplify healthcare for their employees who want flexible access to high-quality care close to home and on the road,” HealthPartners President and CEO Andrea Walsh said.
