The 32,000-square-foot C1 Innovation Lab aims to enhance quality while lowering expenses, according to the report. The name reflects the insurer’s emphasis on “customers first,” and will focus on addressing pressures from healthcare costs and large companies offering BCBS of Texas health plans to their employees, according to the report.
The lab will be staffed with 80-full time clinicians, customer service professionals and innovators. About half of the staff will be new hires.
