Cigna Healthcare is launching Clearity, a copay-only, tech-enabled health plan, according to a Nov. 18 news release.

The product is a tiered copay model without deductibles and coinsurance. Employers can choose from five plan designs, which include up to four in-network tiers and one out-of-network tier. Patient feedback and provider insights are also accessible to help inform decisions.

Earlier this year, J.D. Power ranked Cigna as the top health insurer for commercial member digital experience. This new plan will harness Cigna’s AI-powered tools, such as its virtual assistant, to simplify the user journey.

“By combining our latest AI technology with simplified, transparent costs, we are helping employers offer innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of their workforce,” said Eva Borden, chief product officer of Cigna Healthcare’s U.S. employer business.

Cigna is not the first to release this kind of plan. HealthPartners’ Simplica NextGen Copay will be available next year. UnitedHealthcare’s Surest also offers copay-only models.
