Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health and Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System are partnering to offer Broward County residents a new health insurance option on the ACA Marketplace for 2026, The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Nov. 1.
The insurer, called 22 Health, debuted Nov. 1 and is a new division of Community Care Plan, which manages Medicaid for both public health systems, according to the report.
Jessica Lerner, president and CEO of 22 Health, said the new organization will give individuals and families without employer coverage easier access to a broad network of quality healthcare providers and services, according to the report.
22 Health launches as both systems are in a contract dispute with Florida Blue, the state’s largest payer, according to the report. Both systems are currently out of network with the insurer, but negotiations are ongoing.
