The Acessa System is a laparoscopic procedure delivering radiofrequency energy to eradicate fibroids. The treatment allows a surgeon to only treat fibroids while maintaining normal function of the uterus.
“BCBS of South Carolina joins Health Care Service Corp. (BCBS of Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, Montana and Oklahoma) as well as BCBS of Michigan, Aetna, TriCare, along with a growing list of leading-edge private insurers, to provide coverage for Acessa,” Kim Bridges, president and CEO of Halt Medical, said in a prepared statement. “This positive coverage decision expands access to patients who desire an alternative to more invasive approaches.”
