Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health will stay in network with CVS Health’s Aetna, according to an Oct. 3 statement on the university system’s website.

The agreement allows Aetna’s commercial and Medicare Advantage members to access all Duke Health locations and providers. The statement also placed special emphasis on how the agreement “reflects a shared commitment to putting patients and members first.”

“We came to the table together to reach an agreement that covers the cost of care,” said Thomas Owens, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Duke University Health System. “Our agreement with Aetna prioritizes efficiency, promotes high-quality care and helps drive down healthcare costs.”
