Cincinnati-based health system TriHealth is negotiating its agreement with UnitedHealthcare as its current contract is set to expire at the end of the year, the system told Becker’s.
TriHealth confirmed it sent a letter to patients addressing the potential changes if UnitedHealthcare went out of network, which would affect 80,000 members.
“We want UnitedHealthcare to cease their excess denials of claims and their practice of delaying payment,” TriHealth said.
UnitedHealthcare claimed TriHealth is pushing for a 70% rate increase, a claim the health system denies.
