Wisconsin payer scaling back ACA offerings in 2026

ACA co-op Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, part of CareSource, is pulling back from offering individual and family health plans in 11 Wisconsin counties in 2026.

The change includes all CGHC CareSource plans offered on the exchange and directly from the company’s website. The insurer will remain in 13 counties.

“Our decision to discontinue offering health insurance in your area in 2026 is due to rising health care costs and unexpected shifts in the use of health services,” CGHC wrote. “These trends are happening in our state and across the country, making it harder for us to operate sustainably.”

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
