Samaritan Health Plans, the insurance arm of Corvallis, Ore.-based Samaritan Health Services, will exit the Medicare Advantage market in 2026, the Lincoln Chronicle reported Sept. 3.

Bruce Butler, CEO of Samaritan Health Plans, told Becker’s in a statement that the organization will be able to communicate more about 2026 plan options in October, per CMS rules.

“Samaritan Health Plans has not been immune to nationwide challenges in healthcare,” Mr. Butler said. “As part of an integrated health system serving the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon coast, we are evaluating multiple options to ensure sustainability for the long term. In 2025, there are no changes for our health plan members.”

Samaritan has nearly 14,000 Medicare Advantage members in its HMO and D-SNP plans in Lincoln, Benton and Linn counties in Oregon. The insurer also offers managed Medicaid and commercial employer plans.
