Aetna is launching Care Paths, a new digital tool that is part of parent company CVS Health’s investment in building a more connected, tech-enabled consumer healthcare experience.

Aetna Care Paths is available to members through the Aetna Health app, according to a July 29 CVS Health news release. The tool simplifies the member experience by providing clarity about procedures and benefits, as well as personalized care recommendations, in one location. At the core of the tool is a patent-pending technology that delivers personalized recommendations for programs.

With Aetna Care Paths, beneficiaries with certain health conditions can receive a personalized view of their relevant benefit information and a care team to support them through their journey, according to the release. The AI-powered technology allows beneficiaries to find personalized health and wellness programs tailored to their specific conditions, and opportunities to order care kits for more support.

“Aetna Care Paths are one example of CVS Health’s $20 billion multi-year digital investment in making health care simpler to navigate, a key aspect of Aetna’s strategy of leveraging technology to deliver a better experience for our members and providers,” Aetna Senior Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer Nathan Frank said in the release. “Leading-edge digital tools, including AI, support members at every stage of their health journey.”
