2 Brooklyn health centers offer uninsured women free mammograms this week

Two Brooklyn, NY.-based healthcare facilities — Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and Brookdale Family Care Center — will provide mammograms free of charge to uninsured women this week, Brownsville Patch reports.

State Sen. Kevin Parker (D-WF) and the participating Brookdale facilities sponsored the initiative. Appointments for the mammograms, which will be provided Oct. 21 and Oct. 22, are not needed.  

Insured women who receive the screenings will be billed normally.
