Under terms of the new contract, the two organizations expect to broaden their relationship by implementing new cost management and quality assurance models, according to a statement from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Yale Medicine CEO Paul Taheri, MD, called the agreement a “recipe for success” because of its emphasis on prevention, wellness and care coordination, according to Yale Daily News.
Anthem issued members a notice of network termination with Yale Medicine earlier this year. The organizations reportedly disputed over reimbursement rates and burdensome administrative requirements for Yale providers baked into their existing contract.
