Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Mountlake Terrace, Wash.-based Premera said they would not renew a contract in July after the two disputed rates and other terms. Up to 500,000 individuals would have been out-of-network Jan.1 had a new contract not been resolved. Providence’s Seattle-based Swedish Medical Center, Richland, Wash.-based Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Seattle-based Pacific Medical Centers and their physicians and clinics would have been out-of-network with all Premera policyholders.
No details of the new contract were released, according to the report.
Premera will offer plans for open enrollment this November.
