Effective next year, The Villages Health will stop accepting original Medicare and traditional Medicare Supplemental plans for existing and new patients. As a result, affected residents who want to continue receiving care at The Villages Health will need to enroll in a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plan.
Thousands of residents were notified via letter from the system’s CMO and CEO, though did not receive an explanation for the change, according to the report. Hundreds of residents with Medicare have a few months until they will need to switch to UnitedHealthcare or find new, in-network physicians, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
