Pennsylvania selects 5 payers for special Medicaid contracts

Pennsylvania has selected Aetna, UPMC Health Plan, Centene, AmeriHealth Caritas and Jefferson Health’s Health Partners to administer its Community HealthChoices  program.

The managed care program covers adults who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid or who qualify to receive Medicaid long-term services, according to an Aug. 22 news release.

The chosen insurers will move to a readiness review period before the agreements are fully executed.
