The survey was conducted online from June 24 to June 26 with 1,003 U.S. adults ages 18 to 27.
Thirty-six percent of respondents said they could define “out of pocket,” while only 19% said they could define “out of network.” The survey also found that 14% have little or no awareness about the importance of health insurance.
Among the respondents, 54% said they feel “overwhelmed or anxious” at “the thought of dealing with insurance,” and 28% said they were “going to try to wait as long as possible” to get their own health insurance. Sixty-one percent of respondents said they already pay for their own health insurance.
