John Baackes, CEO of L.A. Care, plans to step down from the helm of the Medicaid managed care plan at the end of the year, according to an April 12 news release. He has been CEO since 2015.

Before joining L.A. Care, Mr. Baackes led AmeriHealth Caritas’ Medicare Advantage unit.

The organization has commenced a national search for Mr. Baackes’ successor, according to the news release. L.A. Care has 2.9 million Medicaid managed-care members in Los Angeles County.
