Michigan awards Medicaid contracts to 9 payers

Michigan has awarded contracts to 9 payers to administer its managed Medicaid program, which serves nearly 2 million people across 10 regions.

The five-year contracts include three, one-year optional extensions and go into effect Oct. 1. 

The 9 payers selected include Upper Peninsula Health Plan, McLaren Health Plan, Molina Healthcare, BCBS Michigan, Priority Health, Centene’s Meridian Health Plan, CareSource, UnitedHealthcare and Aetna.
