Both parties are hopeful that an agreement can be reached before the existing contract expires on March 31, the spokesperson said.

Lifespan is a nonprofit health system that features five hospitals; Gateway Healthcare, a nonprofit behavioral health organization; Lifespan Physician Group; and CoastalMedical, a primary care medical practice.

Becker’s has reached out to Lifespan for comment and will update this story as more information becomes available.
