According to a Jan. 22 news release, previous Wellcare CEO Richard Fisher will transition to a role on Centene’s operations team.
Mr. Carson was president and CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare from 2018 to 2021, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has held several roles since leaving Harvard Pilgrim, including CEO of value-based care startup CareAbout, and a seven-month stint as CEO of now-defunct Bright Healthcare.
Mr. Carson was most recently an executive at consulting firm Aarete, according to his LinkedIn.
As of September, Centene had 1.3 million Medicare Advantage members and 4.5 million Medicare Part D members.
