Managed care company Molina Healthcare is partnering with HealthStream’s MissionCare Collective — which hosts a career network and job portal for CNAs and caregivers — to expand home health aide training in an effort to create 15,000 roles, according to a Jan. 28 news release.
The positions would span 26 states. The online training program, sponsored by Molina, is free and available on mobile. The curriculum is currently rolled out across Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
Following completion of the program, participants can achieve certification and search for jobs using HealthStream resources.
“Molina partners with our state customers to find unique solutions to the challenges that face the members and providers we serve across the country,” Molina’s Medicaid Executive Vice President Debra Bacon said. “We know most of our states are facing significant shortages in the healthcare workforce — a workforce needed for individuals to thrive in their homes and communities.”
A 2025 survey confirmed home care workforce shortages have been pronounced. Bolstering training programs has been a popular strategy for states to cope.
