On the final day of a 90-day extension, Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System and Florida Blue reached an agreement for a renewed three-year contract, according to WWSB.
The deal means Sarasota Memorial Hospital, its accompanying healthcare system, and the system's upcoming Venice, Fla. hospital will be in-network for Florida Blue members.
The contract, effective through June 30, 2024, comes off the tail of a 90-day extension, which focused on reimbursement and expanding coverage to additional avenues, including radiation oncology, according to the Herald-Tribune.
Sarasota Memorial Health Care has navigated tight-turn negotiations with Cigna and Humana over the past few years, according to the Herald-Tribune. WWSB reports the last three-year contract expired a day before ending.
