People who received the robocalls said that calls seemed to be from a single operator who used various company names, including “Executive Health” and “Whitestone Health.” Many of the robocall messages referred people to the same number for more information. If people called the number, they were greeted with a prerecorded message asking basic questions.
These robocalls have also affected other healthcare organizations. Franklin, Tenn.-based Whitestone Healthcare, a local staffing firm, has a notice on its website that it is not Whitestone Health. Whitestone Healthcare’s Director of Business Development Mark Hampton said the agency has fielded 3,000 calls in the past three weeks from people who have mistakenly found his company.
An increase in robocalls is often reported during major national moments, such as open enrollment for health insurance, reports The Washington Post.
