The Health Care Authority is both Regence’s largest customer and the largest healthcare purchaser in Washington state, according to the Aug. 10 announcement. The agreement brings 363,000 new members under the Episodes of Care program.
The value-based agreement’s expansion also includes growth into two states and new covered procedures, including orthopedics, cardiac procedures, gastrointestinal conditions and maternity care, according to the announcement.
Regence said Episodes of Care has resulted in up to 16 percent cost savings for some orthopedic procedures.
