Medicare Advantage plans grossed $1,730 per enrollee in 2021, far exceeding margins for individual, group and Medicaid markets, according to Kaiser Family Foundation. 

Kaiser Foundation Health Plans, part of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, added 36,000 members in 2022, putting it at more than 12.6 million members nationwide.

Site-neutral payment policies under Medicare could save $471 billion over 10 years for the federal government and in premiums and out-of-pocket costs, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association said in a new report published Feb 28.
