SCAN Health Plan will start a “Brokers as Health Navigators” program across its Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Washington markets, according to a Feb. 23 news release.

“Many of the best brokers are already acting as trusted advisors, guiding members well beyond enrollment. This program builds on that foundation and enables more brokers to help members access care and complete preventive services,” SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan CEO Sachin Jain, MD, said.

Under the first phase of the initiative, participating brokers will reach Medicare Advantage members through welcome call support, flu shot education and annual wellness-visit scheduling. Brokers will receive compensation for this work upon confirmation of member activity completion.

“We designed ‘Brokers as Health Navigators’ based directly on feedback from our broker community, who told us they want to deliver more value and build deeper relationships with their clients,” said Chief Growth Officer Michael Blea.
