Louisiana calls for managed care organization proposals

Louisiana’s Department of Health is seeking proposals from managed care organizations with a range of specializations.

The state opened the request for proposals to contract MCOs to provide Medicaid services to nearly 1.6 million state beneficiaries. 

The Department of Health is specifically seeking MCOs that specialize in:

  • Behavioral health integration
  • Child and maternal health outcome improvement
  • Delivery system reform
  • Disaster planning and recovery
  • Department of Justice settlement agreement requirements
  • Fraud, waste and abuse initiatives
  • Health equity
  • Increased MCO accountability

Current contracts will be extended until the selection process is complete and new contracts are awarded.

The deadline for proposals is Sept. 3.
