Nearly 48,000 people signed up for plans from Nov. 1 to Nov. 14, up from 39,000 during the same period in 2016. The average cost of premiums offered on Covered California is up 12.5 percent compared to one year prior.
The enrollment period in California is 12 weeks, twice as long as the 6 week enrollment period for the federal healthcare exchanges.
