Sixty-one percent said a top priority for Congress should be limiting how much drug companies can increase the price of prescription drugs each year to no more than the rate of inflation.

Fifty-three percent said capping the out-of-pocket costs for insulin at $35 a month should be a top priority. The House of Representatives passed a bill with a $35 cap on March 31 and the Senate is working on bills of its own.

Fifty-two percent said placing a limit on out-pocket-healthcare costs for seniors, such as copays for prescription drugs, should be a top priority.

The poll was designed and analyzed by public opinion researchers at the Kaiser Family Foundation. The survey was conducted March 15-22 among a nationally representative sample of 1,243 U.S. adults, according to the foundation.
