Here are four things to know about the deal.
1. MHM provides healthcare and staffing services to correctional systems, state hospitals, courts, juvenile facilities and community clinics nationwide. MHM serves 330,000-plus members across 300 facilities.
2. Under the agreement, Centene will absorb all of MHM’s stock, including MHM’s 49 percent ownership of Centurion. Centurion is a correctional healthcare services joint venture launched by Centene and MHM.
3. The deal, funded through a combination of cash and Centene stock, will expand Centene’s portfolio by two states.
4. The deal is slated to close in the first quarter of 2018.
