Biden expands VA eligibility

Starting this month, all living World War II veterans will be eligible to access healthcare services at no cost through the Department of Veterans Affairs, the White House said Nov. 10.

This applies to nursing home care, the Biden administration said in a news release. The VA will also begin covering healthcare costs associated with Parkinson's disease, and by early 2024, all veterans exposed to toxins who have not yet been able to enroll in VA healthcare will be able to do so.

Throughout the past year, the VA has delivered $163 billion in earned benefits to 6.3 million veterans. News of the eligibility expansion came ahead of Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
