Between 2015 and 2016, 14 states witnessed statistically significant increases in average deductibles for individual coverage under employer health plans, according to SHADAC, a health policy research center affiliated with Minneapolis-based University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
The report, titled "State-Level Trends in Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance, 2012–2016," analyzed Medical Expenditure Panel Survey-Insurance Component weighted estimates. MEPS-IC estimates use the Census Bureau's Business Register in its weighting process.
Here are five states with the highest average annual deductible in 2016.
