A growing number of commercial insurers are providing their members with discounts as their medical claim costs fall due to restricted elective services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are 12 examples as of June 9:

1. HealthPartners is waiving Medicare member cost-sharing for all in-network primary care and behavioral health visits, both in-person and virtual, effective July 1-Dec. 31.
2. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care will extend its policy that waives member cost-sharing for COVID-19 treatment at in-network facilities and out-of-network emergencies, as well as testing, through Sept. 30. The health plan will continue to waive member-cost sharing for telehealth services.
3. Molina Healthcare will continue waiving all out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 testing and treatment through the end of the year, the health insurer said June 8.
4. Anthem will send one-month premium rebates to members. Individual plan and fully insured employer customers will get rebates between 10 percent and 15 percent, while individuals in standalone and group dental plans will get a 50 percent credit. Rebates are slated to be sent out in July.
5. Florida Blue is waiving cost-sharing for in-network primary care and behavioral health office and telehealth visits for Medicare Advantage members through December 2020.
6. Priority Health, a health plan in Michigan, is providing premium credits to its members. It is also waiving cost-sharing for all Medicare Advantage members for in-person and telehealth primary care services through the end of the year.
7. For its Medicare Advantage members, Aetna is waiving all cost-sharing for in-person and telehealth primary care visits with an in-network provider. It is also waiving cost-sharing for all members who have in-network telemedicine visits for outpatient behavioral and mental health counseling services. Both actions are in effect through Sept. 30.
8. Premera Blue Cross said more than 200,000 of its commercial and individual members will receive up to $65 million in premium relief funds and premium rebates over the coming months.
9. Cigna's Express Scripts is capping the out-of-pocket cost for 30-day supplies of generic and brand-name prescriptions at $25 and $75, respectively. The insurer is also eliminating cost-sharing for all in-person and virtual primary care, specialty care and behavioral healthcare visits for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 care.
10. UnitedHealth Group is providing members more than $1.5 billion in discounts, including premium rebates, and its Medicare Advantage customers won't have to cover cost-sharing when they access specialists and primary care physicians at least through September.
11. Humana is waiving all cost-sharing for in-network primary care, behavioral health and telehealth visits for its Medicare Advantage members through the end of 2020.
12. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is waiving cost-sharing for Medicare Advantage members through the end of the year for in-person primary care services, behavioral health office visits and telehealth services for both medical and behavioral health.
