The following payer executives changed their positions in the first half of August.

1. Independence Health Group named Rodrigo Cerdá, MD, vice president of clinical care transformation.

2. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts picked Mark Friedberg, MD, to become senior vice president of performance measurement and improvement.

3. Regence BlueShield of Idaho chose John Heintz as its vice president of network management.

4. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama named Ted Hosp vice president of governmental affairs.

5. WellCare Health Plans named Eugenie Komives, MD, CMO for North Carolina.

6. Humana named Kathie Mancini regional president for its east central Medicare operations.

7. Cigna appointed Brian Marsella market president for its healthcare and related benefits plans in the Midwest market.

8. Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon named James Polo, MD, executive medical director.

9. MetroPlus Health Plan appointed Sanjiv Shah, MD, CMO.

10. Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield promoted Scott Winter to senior vice president and CFO.
