BCBS Minnesota names 2 executives

BCBS Minnesota appointed Allysia Jenkins, BSN, RN, DNP, as vice president of health solutions and Benjamin Pepin as vice president of affordability, according to a Jan. 22 news release.

Dr. Jenkins’s new role will encompass case management, population health, utilization management and behavioral health strategy.

Prior to her appointment, Dr. Jenkins served as the insurer’s senior director of case management. Her background spans more than two decades in healthcare leadership roles. Dr. Jenkins joined BCBS Minnesota in 2018 after working as Humana’s director of care management and eventually the director of clinical strategy. She previously held a series of clinical positions.

“Her deep expertise across our health services portfolio, paired with her strategic vision and collaborative leadership style, position her to drive continued success in health solutions,” Chief Medical Officer Mark Steffen, MD, said.

Mr. Pepin comes from BCBS Kansas City, offering strategic guidance to executives and leading project governance as vice president of enterprise improvement and business evolution. He also spent over 15 years at Accenture, where he focused on payer initiatives.

“His extensive experience driving enterprise transformation and affordability for major health plans will accelerate our ability to maximize value for our members,” Dr. Steffen said.
